Here is the CuroLegal Moonshot:
We will eliminate the access to justice gap in the United States within the next 10 years.
In other words, everyone in our country who needs or wants access to legal services will be able to get it.
To achieve this, it means that we will stop tweaking the way legal services are delivered and recognize that radical changes need to occur.
It means that courts will change the way they administer justice and give access to unrepresented litigants.
It means that bar associations will change the way they serve their members and the public.
It means that legal tech will need to play a more prominent role.
It means that legal aid organizations will find new ways to support the work that they do for indigent Americans.
That sounds absurd, doesn’t it? Well, like any moonshot, we believe it is audacious – yet achievable. We have our vision on how this will play out, but the specifics necessarily will be defined as we go.
Do we think we’re going do this alone? No way. We believe that there are a number of organizations and individuals who will play a central role in achieving this outcome.
We thought we would share this not only to state our intentions, but to affirmatively start the timer.
10 years. Let’s get to work.
